The Fréd Awards are voted for by the cycling public in an open vote and are awarded to people who put an enormous amount of effort into campaigning and working to build a better cycle culture for everyone but go unrecognised.

The awards take the form of a unique head-tube badge that can be mounted on a bicycle.
The inaugural awards took place in 2013 and were presented by Belfast Lord Mayor, Máirtín Ó Muilleoir in the Linenhall Library, Belfast and Minister for Transport Danny Kennedy (MLA) presented the 2014 awards in PlaceNI.

Voting for the 2016 Awards has just opened.
